About me
Hi, I’m Giorgio Minardi.
My first computer was an Amstrad 464 Plus. I dabbled in BASIC, but it didn’t really stick. After high school, I wasn’t sure what path to take—until a friend, fresh into his first job as a C++ developer, showed me what he was working on. I didn’t understand a single thing… but I knew I wanted in.
I began my career as a Java developer at SOGEI in Italy. Not long after, I joined Microsoft Italy as a consultant and moved to the .NET stack (long before .NET Core), where—professionally speaking—I went from boy to man.
Eventually, I moved to the UK and have been contracting ever since (you can find the full story on my LinkedIn). Over the years, I’ve worked as a full-stack developer, team lead, and software architect—always with a tinkerer’s spirit and a firm belief in the KISS and YAGNI principles.
When I’m not at my desk (or standing desk), you’ll probably find me cycling, reading sci-fi, or tinkering with my Steam Deck.
What I do
- Build web apps from scratch (and sometimes from duct tape)
- Tinker with new frameworks, languages, and tools
- Automate the boring stuff
- Share what I learn (and what I break)
If you want to chat about code, tech, or just read the rants of a stranger, you’re in the right place. Thanks for stopping by!
